The CW could renew Gotham Knights because it’s cheaper to make Meanwhile, Netflix saved Dead Boy Detectives, and Amazon stepped in to rescue cancelled animated series Batman: Caped Crusader.īut it looks like the most unlikely DC show of all could survive impending cancellation, and that is none other than Gotham Knights. Discovery and The CW over the past year have resulted in the loss of Batwoman, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, DC’s Stargirl, and Naomi, shows like Superman and Lois and The Flash were renewed for new seasons (though The Flash‘s ninth season is its last). However, there have been exceptions to that rule. Discovery and DC Studios attempt to form a single universe across film and TV. DC Comics fans have had to sit and watch their favorite TV shows and movies get cancelled right before their eyes as Warner Bros.
We may be about to get a new DC Universe overseen by James Gunn and Peter Safran, but there has been little to celebrate in the run-up to that.
DC shows have been cancelled left, right, and center over the last year but one might unexpectedly survive.
